Meri Kenaz’s journeys in the musical world, is bringing her to some interesting places, and the music keeps on growing. She writes about life's journeys and experiences with passion and sincerity. She’s been recurrently touring South Africa with internationally acclaimed Blues guitarist, Dan Patlansky, since 2009.
Her album, In A Moment (released under “Meri Ké”), shares its title with a four line spoken word piece that’s on the album. “It’s about a moment that encapsulates where you are in your life at the time; an almost out of body view of yourself, life and society in general.” says Kenaz.
Meri Kenaz recorded “In a Moment” in 2008 after a series of coastal shows around the Eastern Cape convinced her of her desire to follow her passion for music and writing further. This decision has taken her to new corners of experience and sent her on several national tours. Meri Kenaz is adamant the journey’s only starting.
Indeed she is currently recording her second album which will first be released as a series of limited edition LP’s. The first of these is due to be released soon.
