Jono
Jono is one of the most up and coming DJ/Producer to ever come from the Northern parts of South Africa. Although his Djing journey began in late 2008, his musical journey for house began in late 1990s when he laid his hands to The Church Grooves First Commandment mixed by one of most front runner and most renowned legendary DJ/Producer Oskido. This is where the calling began and he has never looked back. Since developing the love and passion for house music, he has stayed true to his love for soulful house which is mostly influenced by Dennis Ferrer and Quentin Harris, a blend of deep tech most influence being Manno and Rocco, Afro deep and deep house, which in his definition he describes as The Universal sounds of house music (TUSOHM). To take his Djing career seriously, Jono enrolled for a Djing course with Soul Candi Institute of Music in 2008 to become a professional DJ. Although his has never took a music production course, he has taught himself on how to use FL Studio and it did not take too much time to finish his first track; which is evidence of his pure talent of musical artistry. As a DJ his most influential DJs are Euphonik, DJ Fresh (of course everyone is influenced by Fresh), DJ Terrence, DJ Claude, Lulo Café, Kent, Black Coffee and Louie Vega. On the production side, look up to Revolution, Black Coffee, Dennis Ferrer, Quentin Harris, Rocco, Manno, Franck Roger, Louie Vega, MAW, Kent, Karizma, Culoe De Song, the list is endless. Although during the day he is in the corporate world as a Travel consultant, during the night he is crafting his skills as DJ or doing what he loves the most; producing music. With his hardworking mentality and right attitude, surely it won’t be that long for him to be the talk of the town as both a DJ and music producer. Jono has recently released a track on Afrodesiamp3.com titled Strings of love featuring the sensational Andile on vocals.
